Green Week Satellite Events 2012

WATER IS VITAL - GREEN WEEK TIMIŞOARA 2012 event has been labelled “Green Week 2012 satellite event” by the Directorate-General for the Environment of the European Commission

Date and timing of event: From 22 May 2012, 9:00 to 25 May 2012, 20:00

The so called "satellite events" are an important part of the biggest annual conference on European environment policy, "Green Week". Such events are organized in cities within the EU in order to extend the reach of the conference beyond Brussels' borders. These include different types of events, e.g. press conferences, guided tours, exhibitions, fairs, seminars, etc. which are related to the Green Week theme each year. In 2012, the main theme is "Water", more precisely "The Water Challenge – Every Drop Counts".

Along with educational, artistic activities and campaigns to increase awareness of citizens about the importance of water, will hold a roundtable/forum on sustainable use of water in the context of sustainable development: setting targets for sustainable use of water resources, sustainable management of water to a green economy, infrastructure, "green" water supply in the frame of  CONURBANT Project.
